The Gentleman from Angell Street collects memories of H.P. Lovecraft as written by some of his hometown companions, C.M. Eddy, Jr. and Muriel E. Eddy. In addition to long-form recollections of the Old Gent by both C.M. and Muriel Eddy, the book will include Muriel Eddy’s memorial poems in honour of Lovecraft, correspondence between and related to the Eddys and Lovecraft, Lovecraft’s revisions of Eddy manuscripts, an essay examining Lovecraft and Eddy’s search for the Dark Swamp, and archival photographs. An introduction to the book will be supplied by Sean Branney and Andrew Leman of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society.
First published as a black-and-white softcover volume by Fenham Publishing, the new Helios House Press offering represents a substantially expanded and embellished edition of The Gentleman from Angell Street—more than doubling its size. With significant new material, an all-new layout and design, and high-quality production values we know this is an edition Lovecraft fans and enthusiasts of weird fiction will not want to miss! The contents will be presented in full colour on quality paper in a hardcover edition featuring a book cloth quarter-binding and beautiful gold foil accents. It will sit perfectly on a shelf next to other Helios House Press titles, complementing any library of fine books.
