The H.P. Lovecraft Database Application is a project to collect
all of Lovecraft’s writings into one enormous database. Due to the
enormity of such a project, it is still under development and may not be
available for several years. In addition, copyright issues complicate the
matter. The images shown below are from an early prototype of a database
that concentrated only on Lovecraft’s letters.

Here we see the opening screen of the H.P. Lovecraft Database
Application. From the Main Menu, we may select individual
Works, Collections of works, print Reports, use
Utilities to maintain databases, use the Edit features to
cut, copy, and paste, and Quit from the program. |

We select the “Works” menu pad and from the menu that drops beneath
it, we select the “Letters” pad. This activates the Letter Criteria
Selection screen, into which we enter the kind of letters we are
looking for. We can enter the Arkham House number for a letter, a
partial Date, and we can check off the Correspondents and
Keywords that relate to the letter. |

Once we’ve located the letter we’re looking for, we can view the
pertinent information regarding it. If there is an Actual Date for
the letter, it is displayed in two formats. Also, all the
Correspondents and Keywords related to the letter are
shown. |

In addition to seeing information about the letter, we can click on
the “Letter” button and actually see the content of the letter. We
can even Import the letter from a text file so it can be stored in
the database. |
